Privacy

The SwingBy app collects no usage data. There is no analytics, no crash reporting, no account, and no sync. Direct purchases on this website use the billing information described below to issue and recover your licence.

What stays on your Mac

Your app data stays on your Mac. Specifically:

• Your preferences - active hours, voice, session lengths and so on - in macOS user defaults.
• Your reminders, in a small file inside the app's own sandbox container.
• Your Pomodoro count for the day, in memory.
• The most recent 100 completed focus sessions, including their task names, durations and your explicit accomplishment marks, in local user defaults.
• Up to 200 priorities, their selected days and explicit completion marks.
• Your optional next-step note and focus recovery point, including remaining and elapsed focus time. Relaunching restores the session paused, not running.
• Your clock position and whether you enabled calendar suggestions.

The app does not send this data to us. Delete individual entries or clear focus history from Focus history... in the menu bar. Clear priorities from Today. Stopping a focus session clears its saved recovery; unreadable recovery can be explicitly discarded from Today. macOS may retain app settings and its container after the application itself is deleted.

Network access

SwingBy makes no network calls of its own. It is sandboxed without the network entitlement, so it could not phone home even if it tried.

Purchases and links do involve a network:

• Buying SwingBy Pro in the App Store app. Handled by Apple. We receive no payment details - Apple tells the app whether you have bought it, and nothing else.
• Opening a link. If you click through to this website, that is your browser talking to a web host, exactly as with any other link.

Website purchases and licence recovery

For the direct download, this website uses Razorpay to process payments. Your checkout email is sent to our purchase service and Razorpay. Razorpay handles card and other payment details; we do not receive your full card details.

Our purchase service reads the payment and order details from Razorpay to confirm the product, amount, currency and payment status. We store your email, payment ID, order ID, amount, currency, payment timestamp and licence key in Cloudflare storage so you can recover your key. Your email also labels the licence. We do not email licence keys or use your email for marketing.

Cloudflare hosts this website and its purchase service, and processes web requests, including IP addresses, to deliver and protect them. Razorpay processes billing information under its own privacy policy. The app verifies direct licence keys on your Mac without contacting our purchase service. Optional calendar suggestions

In version 1.1 and later, calendar suggestions are disabled until you explicitly enable them. macOS requests full calendar permission because EventKit has no read-only permission tier; SwingBy only reads availability and never edits your events.

The app uses event times, availability and your participation status from your calendars to find a short focus window. Event titles, notes and participant details are not saved by SwingBy or sent to us. Only the opt-in setting is saved. Availability is checked when you open or refresh the feature and before an explicit Start action; there is no background calendar polling.

Choose Disconnect in the calendar focus window to stop these reads, or revoke access in System Settings › Privacy & Security › Calendars. The rest of SwingBy works without calendar permission.

Camera and microphone

SwingBy checks whether your camera or microphone is in use, so that it can stay quiet while you are on a call. It does this by reading hardware state through the system's audio and video device properties.

It never opens the camera or the microphone, holds no permission to do so, and captures, records and transmits nothing. It cannot see or hear anything. It only knows "something else is using this right now".

What is on screen

To avoid appearing over a fullscreen app, SwingBy asks the window server for the on-screen window sizes. It reads geometry only - not window contents, not titles, not what you are doing.

Children

The SwingBy app collects no usage data from anyone, including children. The website purchase service processes the billing information described above when a purchase is made.
